All rooms are individually themed and decorated with en-suite bathrooms, contain tea and coffee making facilities (although staff will deliver these 24 hours if requested), Digital free view flat screen TV, ironing facilities and direct line telephones.


We also offer free Wi-Fi services to guests.

Our 14 rooms are;

ROOM 1; THE CARRUTHERS SUITE.

A large suite with original stone mullion leaded windows, views across the entrance to the hotel. Contains a Jacobean style king size four poster bed and large travertine tiled en-suite bathroom with roll top bath and double walk in shower. Breakfast served in the room, complimentary Champagne and local handmade chocolates.

ROOM 2; THE MAIDS CHAMBER.

Originally the maids room for the Countess of Mansfield, this is a double room with a king size brass bed and travertine tiled en-suite bathroom, with views across the entrance to the hotel.

ROOM 3; MANSFIELD SUITE.

Once Lady Mansfield’s bedroom. A large suite with original Edwardian fitted cupboards and wardrobes. Containing a huge, hand carved Jacobean style king size four poster bed, chaise lounge and en-suite Jacuzzi bathroom. Stunning views across the lawns and gardens through two window bays. Breakfast served in the room, complimentary Champagne and local handmade chocolates.

ROOM 4; STORMONT SUITE.

Named after the Earl of Mansfield’s eldest son, Lord Stormont. This room has uninterrupted views across the lawns and gardens, contains a king size four poster bed and has large travertine tiled en-suite bathroom facilities.

ROOM 5; MURRAY SUITE.

The Earl of Mansfield’s private bedroom suite. Boasts a huge medieval style king size four poster bed, once belonging to Elizabeth Taylor. Chaise lounge and antique furniture, views of the castle and gardens. Very large travertine tiled en-suite bathroom with roll top bath and double walk in shower. Breakfast served in the room, complimentary Champagne and local handmade chocolates.

ROOM 6; THE MAIDS SNUG.

At the end of a private corridor, a twin bedded room with restricted views of the castle, with wainscote wood paneling. En-suite bathroom, with separate dressing area.

ROOM 7; SOLWAY SUITE.

Our largest honeymoon suite. The bedroom is a very large room with king size four poster bed, views across the entrance to the hotel on the second floor, featuring an antique Arts and Crafts oak suite. En-suite bathroom, accessed by a private corridor. This split level travertine tiled bathroom contains large roll top bath in the centre of the room and double walk in shower. Breakfast served in the room  with complimentary Champagne and local handmade chocolates.

ROOM 8; THE CRIFFEL SUITE.

A double room with king size four poster bed. Views across the gardens, on the second floor. Private en-suite bathroom. Named after the stunning views of Dumfriessires highest point, The Criffel viewed from this room.

A large double room, containing king size four poster bed. Views across the gardens on the second floor. Private en-suite travertine tiled bathroom.

ROOM 10; THE CAERLAVEROCK SUITE.

A large room with hand carved mahogany Jacobean style king size four poster bed. An Edwardian bedroom suite of furniture, with chaise lounge. A small turret houses a dressing area, whilst two window areas give views of the Castle and across the Solway coast to Caerlaverock castle. Very large oak lined en-suite Jacuzzi bathroom. Breakfast served in the room, complimentary Champagne and local handmade chocolates.

ROOM 11; THE BUTLERS SNUG.

At the end of a private corridor, a twin bedded room with restricted views of the castle, with wainscote wood paneling. En-suite bathroom, with separate dressing area.

ROOM 12; THE GUEST SNUG.

The largest twin room, with restricted views of the castle. En-suite bathroom.

 This room is the only twin room on the mezzanine floor and as such is the best room for elderly guests.

ROOM 13; THE COCKPOOL SUITE.

A large wood paneled room with views of the drive, king size four poster bed. En-suite dressing room leads to a Jacuzzi bathroom with hand painted furniture. Named after the original castle of Cockpool, destroyed prior to the building of Comlongon in the early 1400`s. Breakfast served in the room, complimentary Champagne and local handmade chocolates.

ROOM 14; THE MOUSWALD SUITE.

(Pronounced “musseled”) Named after the ancient settlement of Mouswald, four miles west of Comlongon, where the family of Sir Simon Carruthers originated, (the builder of the castle). A family suite containing a four poster bed and two twin beds, in one room. En-suite bathroom. Views to the drive.

 The Lodge redefines luxury, two bathrooms and a huge bespoke seven foot wide bed are just some of the features in this stunning development.

ROOMS 1-6 ARE ON THE FIRST FLOOR. ROOMS 7-11 ARE ON THE SECOND FLOOR, WHILST ROOMS 12-14 ARE ON THE MEZZANINE FLOOR. FOR ELDERLY GUESTS ROOM 12 WOULD BE THE MOST SUITABLE AS THIS REQUIRES CLIMBING FEWER STAIRS.
