May I say thanks so much for a marvelous day on Sunday 19th July. It is thanks to all the staff who were on duty for the duration of Nadine and Jim`s wedding. From walking in to walking out nothing was too much trouble and the venue is truly superb. The feedback from all the guests is nothing but praise for Comlongon and the great staff who made it so special.

 Please could you thank all your staff for being so helpful on Saturday 4th July at the wedding of Jon and Katie savage. My elderly disabled mother-in-law was taken ill during the banquet and your staff were extremely kind and especially the young who cleared up the area. At 83 it was a long journey but Jon and Katie are special to her and she was determined to attend.

 A castle was never designed to accommodate wheel chairs but your staff were a credit to the venue and the event was a wonderful experience.

Hello Phil,

 I`d just like to say what an amazing time we had staying at the castle last weekend (27th July). This time we got to see it from the `other side` as wedding guests with Pete being best man. It was such a shame we didn`t get to see you while we were there it would`ve been nice to catch up.

 I must admit, as much as we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, I wished it had been our wedding all over again! Although, we were treated just as well, the staff were fantastic!

 We were greeted by Anne at reception and she looked so surprised to see us there, it was quite emotional actually! We were so touched that she remembered us as there must be hundreds of weddings since ours in June 2007!... (hopefully we wrer remembered for the right reasons!) And also not forgetting Lisa who was lovely and couldn`t do enough for us. It was great to see them again, they both went out of their way to make sure we had a good time. They are a real credit to you.

 The castle is still one of the most amazing and unique places I have ever been to and we are both looking forward to coming to stay again. Infact my parents are also dying to come back so it may be a family outing,

 We would like to say a huge thank you everyone for making our Wedding Day on 21st May 2009 so special and memorable. It really was the perfect day and far exceeded our expectations. All the staff were fantastic making us feel both relaxed and at home and like we were the most important wedding- it really is a credit to them that despite the large number of weddings they do, they still have the ability to make each onefeel so special. From the first time we visited the castle we knew that this place was magical and from the moment we booked, right through the wedding itself we received the most wonderful service from all your staff. We would especially like to thank Rosemary for all her help on the run up answering our numerous emails both promptly and efficiently and also for all her hard work on the day.

 We would also like to thank you on behalf of all our guests who were truly blown away by the whole experience commenting that it was the best wedding they have ever been to- I`m sure it will remain a talking point for both them and us for many years to come.

 Chris and I just wanted to say a huge thankyou to everyone involved in making our wedding on Saturday 25th April 2009 such a magical and memorable experience! The day could not have been any better, and went beyond our expectations.

 We were particularly pleased to be the first couple to have our wedding ceremony outside in the new "folly", as the weather was so lovely! In April??!

 The venue, food, Celtic Blessing and general customer service were excellent, and credit must go to the Staff who made sure events ran smoothly and stress free. Given how many weddings the staff see, they made us feel very special. Thankyou once again, and we wish we could do it all over again!

Hello

 We are back in Australia now and getting used to the time zone again. I just wanted to say a few things about our wedding as we are still buzzing from it all, and before we forget!

 1. I found the cake topper once we unpacked everything. I hope you didn`t spend too much time looking for it. I didn`t realise it was boxed again, so really sorry if you were wasting time looking for it

 2. Band- We were so impressed with Grant and the band. Not only was the music great, but he was very professional in making sure we were happy with the format etc. I have to say the sword dancing was hilarious too.

 3. Denise and all the staff on the day were excellent. I felt that everything was in control and taken care of. All requests were efficiently and politely dealt with and nothing was too much trouble. The service recieved was very personal and everyone was so friendly, it made me feel very relaxed.

 4. Banquet staff- They were all excellent and really made the banquet special. From communicating exactly what was going to happen, including saying grace, to serving the meals and introducing speeches. We were very impressed.

 5. Chef(s) for banquet meal and breakfast. Everyone was complimentary about the meal and it`s presentation. In fact I had lots of requests for the salmon starter recipe!

 6. Hotel throughout has been very beautifully decorated with respect to the rooms and the other areas downstairs. We couldn`t have asked for a more special venue. The grounds are so well kept and stunning- we loved it all.

 7. Cake- We had the cake made and delivered by Rona Hope who I don`t think is on your list of suppliers at the moment. The guests all seemed to love the cake and it was very well presented. She was very reasonably priced too.

 8. Flowers- We used Gardenwise, who were great and very friendly and efficient too. They took into consideration my request for particular flowers and made sure that those for the cake matched.

 9. Hair and make up- was done by "Fiona and June" with Liz for the make up on the day too. They were very professional and did a great job as I didn`t really give any specific directions as to what we wanted. They were so reasonably priced too. Not only did they do hair and make up but they also helped with making sure that the dress and accessories looked good. We all appreciated that.

 10. Photo story on Youtube. I have added a photostory on Youtube. I think it shows the castle and grounds very well.

 11. Trip Advisor review- I wrote a review on Tripadvisor and added about 10 pictures.

Dear Comlongon Staff

 I am compelled to write, to express how happy my husband and I are that our daughter Sarah and new son in law, Chris, chose to told their wedding at Comlongon Castle.

 Everything about the day far exceeded our expectations. The setting is fabulous, the food was wonderful and everyone who came to the wedding were blown away by Comlongon Castle. The staff were unfailingly pleasant and extremely helpul. Even the weather behaved itself and Sarah and Chris were able to be the first to use the new outdoor wedding setting in the gardens.

 Anyone getting married at Comlongon should in our opinion, also choose the "Handfasting" ceremony as this was delightfully unusual and we all enjoyed taking part.

 I know Sarah and Chris are extremely grateful to everyone at the Castle who helped them achieve their dream wedding, everything was very well organised and ran like clockwork. We had such a wondeful time no one wanted to break the spell by leaving the next morning!

 Once again please thank all the staff involved in our daughter`s wedding, you made it a wonderful time for our family and friends, and I am sure we will be talking about it for a long time to come and reliving it through the photographs.

Dear Phil,

 I`m writing to thank both you and your excellent staff for your help in making such a success of Kim and Philip`s wedding.

 On my return from Gatwick Airport to Canterbury I had Philip on the telephone for twenty minutes full of what a wonderful time they had both had.

 I know it is a team effort at Comlongon but could I make special mention of Denise, Lisa, Rosemary and Moira for whom nothing was too much trouble and of course Alex who kept everything together at the wedding breakfast and beyond!

 The Chinese lanterns were a brilliant idea Phil and looked so beautiful in your dark sky.

 The kitchen did a fabulous job and I would appreciate your passing on our thanks to them too.

 I would have no hesitation in recommending Comlongon to anyone looking for a wedding venue and I know Philip and Kim are already taling about a return visit.

 Firstly an apology for the lateness of this message.

 We want to give you a massive thank you for making our wedding on the 13th December 2008 such a fantastic day. It certainly was the best day of our lives.

 I know that this sentiment is echoed in all your testimonials but friends are honestly reporting that our wedding was the best wedding they had ever been to (in some cases second only to their own, not that they would admit it if it was better!) And our nieces loved going to the fairytale castle and kept asking when they can go again!

 Our minister, Sandy Strachan, did an amazing job making the ceremony light hearted and even making people laugh.

 The food was absolutely amazing and all our guests with various complex dietry requirements all commented how easy you made it for them and how delicious the food was.

 The band made sure all our guests had a great time in the evening, the sword dancing competition adding to the entertainment! Please make sure that our thanks are passed to them.

 We want to thank all of your staff especially our co-ordinator and toastmaster. We were so overwhelmed that we are ashamed to say we can`t remember your names but hope this goes to show what a great time we had!!

Dear All,

 I wanted to write to thank everyone at the castle for making our wedding on the 25th October 2008 such a fantastic day. Apologies for the delay but we have been away on an extended honeymoon!

 All our guests had a brilliant time, and we recieved so many compliments about the food, the venue and the staff. The food really was outstanding; so many of the photos on the disposable cameras we left on the tables, were of the food, which I think says it all! Not only did it look amazing, but tasted superb!

 Several of our friends said it was the best wedding they had ever been to, which is fantastic! Despite the torrential rain and gale force winds, we felt warm and cosy inside the castle and didn`t give the weather a second thought. Sandy our Minister was also brilliant- thank you so much for organising him on our behalf.

 Many thanks again for all your help making our day truly amazing- we wouldn`t hesitate to recommend the venue to anyone looking for a magical Scottish hideaway,

Dear all the staff at Comlongon Castle,

 We have been meaning to send you a thank you card ever since the day of our wedding on the 20th August 2008.

 We had the most amazing day and all your staff were wonderful.

 Everything was just so easy to sort out and the whole day ran so smoothly our friends and family were totally taken aback by the whole day and our friends who have yet to marry feel they have a lot to live up to!

 The value for money that was provided was also fabulous- some of our guests were overheard guessing the cost at around £18,000- we will tell them the price if they fancy getting hitched there!

 The food, fireworks and the Celtic Blessing were super and the Ceilidh band were awesome- we were thrilled with everything.

 Special thanks to the Boss for letting us buy a sword and for having it engraved for us. It now takes pride of place in our lounge.

 Please keep us informed of any party nights, special events that you are holding as we would love to come back again.

 Simon and I would like to say a massive thank you to all for making our Wedding such a special day. It was certainly a day which ourselves and all our family and guests will remember for years to come.

 We would like to give special thanks to our wedding co-ordinator for the day, Lisa, and also to Alex, our master of ceremonies. Everything about the day was fantastic. Even the pouring rain and howling wind outside could not spoil it. The weather even decided to behave itself in the evening and we managed to get our firework display after all. 

 The food was of exceptional quality, especially the desserts- I got a little taste of them all! The Ceilidh band was amazing. All of our guests had such a great time and are still talking about it 2 months later. I was really pleased with the way they arranged the evening`s entertainment. It was great to have a break between the dances. Especially considering the majority of our guests weren`t Scottish and had never done any of them before. I think they appreciated the break!

 We can honestly say that there was not one element of the day which we were disappointed with. We could not have asked for a more fantastic setting for our wedding. Once again, thank you so much for everything. Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a fantastic New Year!

Dear Comlongon castle

 I am writing to say a huge and heart-felt thank you to you all for making our wedding day such a fantastic and wonderful day, we cannot thank you enough for everything you did to make our day such a memorable one- our guests are still talking about it to this day.

 The castle and hotel are truly magnificant, there is a lovely atmosphere and a warmth about the whole place, the grounds are so peaceful and the castle itself exudes majesty and history.

 But the best thing about the whole venue and the cherry on the impressive cake is the staff, who are all brilliant. From the moment we stumbled through the door the night before, to the moment we left on Sunday slightly shell shocked (!)- we were all treated like royalty. Everyone was warm, very friendly, helpful, professional and nothing was too much trouble, even when the Bride was shuffling around with pneumonia! Thanks to everyone at the castle, the whole weekend glided along seemlessly and this is certainly testament to everyone who was involved in our wedding weekend.

 Thank you so much to Ann, Lisa, Denise, Rosemary and Moira on reception for the warmest of welcomes and for their endless help, patience, co ordination and hot chocolate! As `front line troops` they were all fantastic and certainly hepled calm any nerves

 Thank you very much to the Chefs George, Kenny and Steve- the food was absolutely delicious and everyone said how much they enjoyed every single meal during the weekend as well as the wonderful wedding banquet that we were all treated to. Steve and I must ask what haggis you use, it was lovely!

 A big thank you to Emma, Carol, Peter and Ashley who waitered for us with such finesse and endless patience(!), their service was smooth and done with a smile and we hope that the young lady who doesn`t like pigs has recovered from the hog roast!

 Thank you to Daniel and Emma as Banquet Managers they were fantastic and ensured that everything went smoothly and without a single hitch, luckily no one made a bolt for freedom just before the speeches so Daniel and Emma were not called upon to rugby tackle any fleeing guests!

 Another big thank you must go to Anita and her housekeeping team who worked tirelessly behind the scenes and ensured that we all had immaculate rooms and wanted for absolutely nothing, their efforts were appreciated and I hope we didn`t leave the Murray Suite too much like a bridal bombsite- sorry.

 Thank you so much to Ali and Ewan for running such a good bar and for keeping us well watered throughout, they were not only friendly and efficient but kindly laughed at even the poorest of jokes told to them by slightly merry guests!

 Please also pass on our sincerest thanks to Lindsay the piper, who did a truly wonderful job in piping us around to some fantastic battle ballads!

 Please also pass on our thanks to the hog roast team as well, the pork was simply stunning and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the meal- including the vegetarian!

 We really are grateful to every single one of you for making our wedding so memorable, as mentioned earlier our guests are still talking about it today and everyone said it was the best wedding they`d ever been to. We even had some ladies complaining to us because they could not see how they could possibly follow our wedding with their own- of course, we recommended you! And the perfect end to the perfect day was when two of our guests got engaged on the evening of our wedding day, how romantic can you get?

 Please make sure your owner and boss gets to see this letter as we want everyone to know just how fantastic everything and everyone was. With this in mind, we have also had a link to Comlongon Castle on Facebook for a while now and have written a review on TripAdvisor entitled "Wow" which we feel sums up things rather nicely. We really can`t wait to visit you again and hope that there are chances for old married couples to return and relive their wedding wonders.

 We are sorry for the delay in getting our thanks to you, I was quite ill for sometime with the pneumonia but am pleased to say that I am now recovering nicely- just in time for Christmas. Thank you for your Christmas card, it was a lovely surprise and will go into our guest book as a festive full stop to our wedding collection.

 We hope this finds you all well and wish you a wonderful Christmas and a very merry New Year, thank you so much again and we wish you a very successful 2009.

 From the word go we were made to feel really special.

 The rooms were beautiful, the gardens gorgeous, the cows made a really good impact on our southern guests. The ceremony in the Great Hall was magical and Lindsay and Stan piping us was terrific.

 Alex and Lisa saw that the evening went smoothly.

 I would like to thank the band who got everyone up dancing after the fabulous meal which people are still discussing.

 I`d also like to thank the Lady behind the bar who saw to everyone`s needs and was a pleasure to meet.

 Considering that you make these weddings happen sometimes twice a day, you would never know it. Your professionalism and dedication to making every day special shows how good you all are at Comlongon.

Hi to you all,

 Jim and I would like to thank you all so much for our wonderful wedding stay with you on Sunday 30th November. The Castle looked stunning with all the decorations in place and all your staff were so very helpful to us. From the minute we arrived the day just went to plan. The bottom keep where we had our Registrar wedding was so romantic and intimate with all the candles it just made it so special for Jim and I. Our superb meal in your stunning dining room with the tables all decorated was just wonderful, and last but not least the icing on the cake was the Celtic Handfast Ceremony in the Great Hall performed by Dave the Clan Chief and Stan the Piper was certainly a very special occasion and something so different to remember for the rest of our lives. Finishing the night with a bang was the magnificant display of fireworks. The weather on this day was cold with a covering of frost and has made our pictures look superb.

 I would like to thank Phil so much for the enormous detail and effort he takes into making his Castle venue that is so special no one could fail to love it.

Dear Sir,

 On the weekend of the 15th to the 17th August 2008, we had the great pleasure of being guests at your castle for our wedding.

 We felt we had to let you know that the whole weekend was a great success, which far exceeded our expectations. Your staff were totally professional from the time we first contacted you to enquire about booking our wedding with yourselves, to the time we booked out on the Sunday morning. However, more importantly, your staff were extremely friendly and helpful throughout the weekend, always ensuring that the needs of all our guests were met and that everything ran smoothly.

 A number of our guests have commented that although you cater for in excess of 300 weddings per annum, the service you provided made us feel that our wedding was special and unique.

 The choice, standard and preperation of the food was exceptional and the way the dining area was prepared for both the Lairds banquet and the Wedding breakfast was intimate and ensured that everyone was able to feel a part of the party.

 The decoration of the venues for both the Civil ceremony and the Celtic blessing were stunning and very atmoshperic. Also the grounds of the castle were so beautiful and well kept, providing a perfect setting for many wonderful wedding photographs.

 We chose to have live entertainment on both evenings and the smaller acoustic band on the Friday night was a lovely way to settle in and allow our guests to relax and get to know each other. The range of music was excellent and the boys had an excellent repartee with the guests. The range of music on the Saturday night was also excellent and the Scottish dancing was fast and furious and thoroughly enjoyed  by all.

 The indoor shooting on the Friday night was a great hit with our guests and something you certainly don`t get a chance to do at most weddings!

 Small touches, such as the piper who was very friendly and helpful in suggesting locations for certain photographs added to the unique feel of the wedding. Also we would recommend the Celtic ceremony to anybody, as it was a totally informal and enjoyable experience and many of the guests commented that this was a far more meaningful celebration than any religious ceremony that they had been to. Dave made us and our guests feel totally at ease and certainly looked the part!

 Although we are obviously biased, we feel that this was an amazing wedding weekend and are so pleased that we chose Comlongon for our weddding weekend over other venues. Photographs of the castle and grounds have now been spread all over South Wales, the USA and Australia! The only regret we have is that the experienceis now over, but our guests are constantly telling us that it was the best wedding that they had ever been to and probably will ever go to. We will never forget the amazing experience and would like to thank you for all the major part you played in what is a very important part of our lives.

Hi Dave,

 we are back from our honeymoon and wanted to thank you for the part you played in our wedding at Comlongon. I must admit that I was worried about the Celtic Blessing and with the different vows that were made into cards, I was worried that it might sound a bit corney! In fact, a couple of the people who were doing the readings had a bit of a laugh when they read them, but they all were the same people who creid their eyes out after actually reading them in the ceremony because they said that the whole thing was so moving and that the readings completely suited the atmosphere. After talking to you before the ceremony, all my worries faded away, you made us feel completely at ease and I actually started to look forward to it.

 I would recommend the Handfasting ceremony to anybody and felt, along with many of our guests, that it was far more meaningful than our wedding ceremony. All my guests said it was a lovely ceremony, in a lovely setting and were very impressed by the way you looked and the way you carried it out. They were all very interested in the history of it.

 Again, we want to say thank you, thank you, thank you, we will never forget a perfect weekend at the perfect venue.

Dear Phillip,

 I can not find enough words to express how we felt after my daughter`s amazing wedding at Comlongon on Friday 22nd August.

 I arrived, a nervous and frantic wreck, but the cool professionalism of your team calmed and reassured me. Your staff are a credit to you-everything was tremendous. Your castle was the dream location and thanks to the team everything went like clockwork.

 There was not one high point, but a whole day of them-one after another. Your pipers were exeptional and even managed to play "Hero, my nut brown maiden" when my daughter and her new husband emerged from the Keep after the ceremony. This tune is very special to us and although the pipers had not done it for years they managed it, and were superb- absolutely fantastic!!

 The food was more than wonderful-everyone had nothing but praise for the Chef.

 The Celtic Blessing was incredible- something no-one had ever seen before, and so moving.

 The fireworks took all our guests by suprise and really "wowed" them. The band were marvelous (all the women fancied the lead singer..) and got almost everyone on the dance floor, the sword dancing was again something no-one had experienced before!

 Everything was so wonderful, truly awesome, you all made it a very special and memorable wedding. In fact, Ruan`s great Aunty said that it was the best wedding she`d ever been to. I think we all felt the same!

 You have a stunningly beautiful location and a brilliant team. I wish you all the best for the future and long may your success continue. My heartfelt thanks to you all.
